The true value that I bring to my clients is my business experience
Prior to becoming a CPA, I worked in almost all the back-office positions that can be found in small and medium sized businesses. I’ve been responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, commercial credit and collections, payroll, as well as general ledger work. Additionally, I set up computerized accounting systems in companies that had only a manual system. This included installation of the software, set up chart of accounts and enter historical information.
Currently, as the Principal of my own firm I not only provide outsourced
accounting services, but I leverage my business experience to provide actionable
recommendations to grow your business.
Most other outsourcing account firms just send you balance sheets and financial reports that get filed away until tax time. I use that same financial data to design improvements for your business as a whole.

ADJUNCT PROFESSOR
I am also an Adjunct Accounting Professor for the Dallas County Community College District where I teach first year accounting to high school dual credit students and working adults.
MILITARY SERVICE
Outside of the accounting realm, I am a retired Army National Guard officer. My hometown is Waco, Texas, (home of Chip & Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame) where I enlisted in the U.S.Army Reserve in 1977 and was assigned to an Engineer detachment. When I moved to Dallas, I transferred to the Texas Army National Guard and was assigned to an armor company as an M 60 tank driver. After promotion to sergeant (SGT/E5), I became the full time Unit Clerk for the armor company (think of Radar from MASH). I attended Texas Officer Candidate School and accepted my commission as an armor officer. My duty assignments as an armor officer included tank platoon leader, tank company executive officer, tank battalion support platoon leader, tank company commander, tank battalion S-4 (logistics) officer and finally tank brigade S-3 Air (assistant operations officer). I retired as a Captain (CPT/O-3E) in 2001 after serving over 23 years.
